Abstract

A cartridge selector enables retrieval of a cartridge 10 from either side of the selector device, and also allows depositing the cartridge in the selector device from either side. The apparatus includes an input arm 12 that is rotated to move a cartridge carrier 14 along a slider rod 16, until the carrier reaches a position where a guide slot in a base 18 will allow the carriage to pivot. The input arm 12 is slotted to receive a cam follower and rotates on an input shaft 20. After the carrier has rotated 180 degrees, the slots in the base prevent further rotation, and allow the carrier to slide along the rod. Reversal of rotation of the input arm reverses the carrier cycle.
