Abstract

This system allows data received by the telephone system controller from a regular push button telephone set to be displayed at the subscriber's extension. This system allows data received by the telephone system controller from a regular push button telephone set to be displayed at the subscriber's extension. The object is to check those data and/or a coded inquiry sent from the same telephone set, which is answered by the system controller in a visual form.

Telephone set T and display D are connected in parallel on the same telephone line L through a two-way switch SW. Switch SW is manually controlled through a Talk/Display push button provided on the display itself, which connects either the telephone set or the display to the telephone line.

The operations of "Inquiry," "Inquiry check" and "Inquiry answer" are explained in the following chart, the left part of which describes the various subscriber's actions and the right part of which describes the corresponding controller actions.

At rest it is assumed that switch SW is in the "Talk" position. Subscriber's actions Controller actions Picks up handset. Detects the call.
