Abstract

This is a water-soluble flux formulation, which is characterized by its ability to produce shiny joints and lower hygroscopic effects than other fluxes of this type. The preferred formulation by volume is as follows: Methanol 24 +/- 2% Isopropyl alcohol 13 +/- 1% Ethyl CELLOSOLVE* 29 +/- 2% Polyethylene glycol 31 +/- 1% Tartaric or malic acid 50 grams/liter Dimethglamine hydrochloride 6.25 grams/liter * Trademark of Union Carbide Corporation.
