Circuit Card Load Gun

This circuit card loading gun is capable of accepting two single or one double-wide circuit card for insertion or removal into a card basket 10. Turning the handle 12 causes a cam 14 to spread the jaws 16, 18 by the cam action against moveable rods 20, 22. The double-wide circuit card 24, 26 slide into grooves 28, 30 provided in the jaws.

Once the card has been placed in the grooves, the handle 12 is returned to the released position causing the spring-loaded jaws 16, 18 to close. The cards 24, 26 are rigidly held in place by tension applied to small wires 32, 34, 36, 38 inserted across the card grooves 28, 30. The cards can now be inserted into the board socket 10. By again actuating the cam 14, tension of the wires on the card is relieved to allow the gun to be removed, while the cards remain intact and aligned in the board socket.
