Abstract

The magazine shown in Fig. 1 consists of a drum 10, which has wound thereon in helical fashion a length of channel track 12 terminated at one end with a stop 13, and at the other end with an interconnection head 14 adopted to connect the track to a chip loading apparatus, not shown. One end 15 of the drum 10 is sealed with a plate 16, which used to hold the drum 10 in a fixed position on the vibratory loading apparatus.

The magazine shown in Fig. 1 consists of a drum 10, which has wound thereon in helical fashion a length of channel track 12 terminated at one end with a stop 13, and at the other end with an interconnection head 14 adopted to connect the track to a chip loading apparatus, not shown. One end 15 of the drum 10 is sealed with a plate 16, which used to hold the drum 10 in a fixed position on the vibratory loading apparatus.

Fig. 2 shows a cross-sectional detail of the track 12. This track 12 is in cross- sectional view C-shaped, so that its two lips 17, 18 are opposed to one another to define a partially enclosed region 19 in which a chip 20 can be contained. The opening 21 between lips 17 and 18 is sufficiently narrow as to prevent the chip 20 from passing therethrough, once it is introduced into the track. Thus the chip 20 once introduced into the track 12 is securely held therein. When a chip 20 is introduced into the track 12 at head 14 and the unit vibrated, the chip 20 will travel along the track to stop 13.
