Abstract

An effective drive for a pin feed tractor wheel 10 for feeding a continuous form, utilizes a pair of wedges 12 coupled by springs 14 and bearing on a flat surface 16 on a drive shaft 18. Levers 20 having a fulcrum 22 can be pinched together to engage flanges 24 on the wedges 12 to separate the wedges and release the tractor wheel 10 from the shaft 18 for adjustment of the wheel along the shaft.

Wedge Driven Tractor Wheel

An effective drive for a pin feed tractor wheel 10 for feeding a continuous form, utilizes a pair of wedges 12 coupled by springs 14 and bearing on a flat surface 16 on a drive shaft 18. Levers 20 having a fulcrum 22 can be pinched together to engage flanges 24 on the wedges 12 to separate the wedges and release the tractor wheel 10 from the shaft 18 for adjustment of the wheel along the shaft.

This arrangement provides zero backlash, low-manufacturing cost and ease of adjustment of the tractor wheel 10 along the shaft 18 for different form widths.
