Motor Mounting Bracket

Required dimensional tolerances, lower costs, and the elimination of fastening devices and machining are attained with a stamped mounting bracket for a translatable motor.

The upper stamped portion includes cradle 2 for motor 1. Also included are spring catch 5 for spring 7, magnet/armature plate 10, and pivot legs 3 and 4. The lower stamped portion includes a coined area or detent 9, spring catch 6, and a coined area 8. Coined area 8, being generally conical in shape, will restrict lateral movement of the upper stamped portion. The upper and lower portions are biased together by spring 7.

In operation, motor 1 is translated about the point of contact between legs 3 and 4 and areas 8 and 9, respectively, upon activation and deactivation of a magnet/armature assembly connected to plate 10.
