Off Chip Collector Driver Circuit

The saturated collector-driver circuit shown in the drawing provides an off- chip driving signal swing, compatible with the internal swing. The circuit eliminates the need for a level shifting circuit and requires only a single-power supply.

The circuit includes saturating transistor T1 with collector-load resistance R1. Since internal and external signal swings are the same, a level shifting circuit and additional power supply are not required for off-chip driving.
