Priority Insertion Card Mechanism

Illustrated is a feed mechanism for allowing a priority data card to be fed to a data reader, by interrupting the feeding of other cards.

A flush plate in the top cover of the card feed is pushed exposing a card slot. The plate pivots and rotates the picker roller mounting lifting the picker off the card stack. The priority card can now be inserted in the card slot and under the picker. A feed cycle pulls this card into the separator roller which will feed the priority card. Release of pressure from the cover initiates normal feeding of the cards.
