The electrical connections to an automatic toner concentration control system and a toner level indicating apparatus are series connected with the electrical connection to the developer conveyor, to insure that the electrical connections are properly replaced when the unit has been serviced.

An automatic toner concentration control system similar to that described in
U. S. Patent 3,756,192 is employed in conjunction with a developer unit of a copy machine, to insure the correct concentration of toner within the developer mix. Additionally, a toner low indicator is employed with the developer unit, to indicate that the supply of toner in the toner replenisher is low. Both the toner concentration control system and the replenisher indicator are electrically powered and may be removed as a unit for servicing purposes. To insure that the electrical connections are properly replaced, they are connected in series with the developer conveyor clutch system. Thus the toner concentration sensor plug 11, a replenisher indicator and clutch assembly 13, and the replenisher- developer unit disconnect plug 15 are connected in series with the conveyor clutch plug 17 which provides power to the conveyor clutch. Should the serviceman fail to replug any of these units after servicing, the conveyor device will not operate and hence the developer unit is inoperable, thereby providing an immediate indication that a plug has not properly been replaced.
