Abstract

The following metal chelates were found to have significant extinction coefficients (weight basis - E(900)) at 900 nm (9000 Angstroms). This permits use of these colorants in ink jet inks, resulting in characters which are OCR (optical character recognition) readable when illuminated by LED's (light-emitting diodes) centering at about 900 nm.
