Abstract

An etchant for polyimide is produced by dissolving potassium hydroxide in an equal quantity by weight of water and, when cool, mixing equal volumes of the potassium hydroxide solution with hydrazine hydrate. The etchant works well when used at a temperature of 60 degrees centigrade.
