Abstract

In lieu of a nonintegral strap-type cable tie, the insulation sleeves of the wire conductors that are commonly grouped are ultrasonic bonded together. The ultrasonic tie thus requires less room than conventional strap-type cable ties. It is particularly useful for tying electrical insulated wires associated with circuit boards and the like into tight compact bundles and, thus, makes the underlying components more accessible to repair and/or testing.
