Abstract

Magnetic tag stock 10 is encoded by write head 42 as tag 10 is driven thereunder by drive wheel 20. Timing disc 46 and light-emitting diode (LED) and phototransistor arrangement 44 are responsive to the velocity of tag 10 for gating the write data to head 42. After tag 10 has been driven past head 42 and encoded, cutter blade 40 is actuated to separate the encoded tags from tag stock 10. Drive wheel 20 is rotated by handle 22 through an arc established by the setting of ratchet cam 25, which operates pawl 24 against drive wheel ratchet 26.

Hand Operated Tag Dispenser

Magnetic tag stock 10 is encoded by write head 42 as tag 10 is driven thereunder by drive wheel 20. Timing disc 46 and light-emitting diode (LED) and phototransistor arrangement 44 are responsive to the velocity of tag 10 for gating the write data to head 42. After tag 10 has been driven past head 42 and encoded, cutter blade 40 is actuated to separate the encoded tags from tag stock
10. Drive wheel 20 is rotated by handle 22 through an arc established by the setting of ratchet cam 25, which operates pawl 24 against drive wheel ratchet 26.

As drive wheel 20 is rotated clockwise to drive card stock 10 past right head 42, link 30 toggles over on the forward stroke to actuate cutter 40 on the back stroke. Link 30 is loaded by spring 34 with respect to pivot point 32 on link 36. Link 36 is driven by cutter cam 28 on the return stroke of handle 22, so as to drive bottom cutter blade 40 upward to sever card 10.
