Module Tray

This tray is designed to handle substrates for automatic feed of parts into process machines.

The tray 4 includes a lever 6 and spring 8 arrangement to reduce damage to parts and permit longer life for the tray.

Lever 6 has an angled portion 7 having a surface 9 with a negative rake angle that, in operation, serves as a movable stop for unloading substrates 11 supported in grooves 12. Lever 6 is rocked on edge 13 to assume the position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2.

The longitudinal position of lever 6 in the up position is assured, by end portion 14 seated in notch 10 and tab 15 seated in aperture 16. Spring 8 provides a downward force that maintains lever 6 in position in notch 10, but allows for relative pivotal movement at tab 15. Reinforcing spring 18 prevents overstressing of spring 8 in the event of overtravel of lever 6, which might be caused, for example, by an improper adjustment of depressor element 19.
