Abstract

A miniature modular programming switch presents a series of on-off switches and includes a base member 10, side frames 11 and 12, a clamp lid 13 and a cover 14. At each individual switch position a spring 15, formed as an insert in the plastic side frame 11 when the latter is molded, forms one terminal and carries one contact of the on-off switch. Spring 16 forms the other terminal, carries the cooperating contact and is similarly formed as an insert in side frame 12.

Modular Flat Pack Programming Switch

A miniature modular programming switch presents a series of on-off switches and includes a base member 10, side frames 11 and 12, a clamp lid 13 and a cover 14. At each individual switch position a spring 15, formed as an insert in the plastic side frame 11 when the latter is molded, forms one terminal and carries one contact of the on-off switch. Spring 16 forms the other terminal, carries the cooperating contact and is similarly formed as an insert in side frame
12.

Spring 15 has a terminal end 17 that may be received in a cooperating socket, not shown, and within the switch enclosure carries a contact 18. Spring 16 also has a terminal end 19 adapted to be received in a cooperating socket, not shown, and within the switch enclosure carries a cooperating contact in the form of a conductive sphere 20 welded thereto.

The terminal end 21 of spring 16 is formed to present a convex surface, which cooperates with the pivoting switch lever 22 to open and close the contacts 18 and 20. Switch lever 22 has a trunion 23 at each transverse side which is received in a recess in clamp lid 13, to permit pivoting between positions of engagement with side frame projections 25 and 26.

Base member 10, side frames 11 and 12 and clamp lid 13 are secured together as an assembly by four locking wedges 28. The cover 14 may be included with the switch assembly which is retained by cooperation with a pair of grooves 29 in lid 13.
