This magnetic brush developer receives reclaimed toner from a photoconductor cleaning station, not shown, so that the toner can be again mixed with the developer's carrier particles.

Figs. 1 and 2 diagrammatically show two augers 10 and 11 which cause developer mix to recirculate in a path 12 of Fig. 2. The purpose of these augers is to stir and triboelectrically charge developer mix 13, and to present toner enriched carrier particles to the developer's magnetic conveyor roll 14 and developer roll 15.

Dotted outline 16 of Fig. 2 represents the point or zone at which reclaimed toner is returned to the developer from the cleaning station, not shown. Each of augers 10 and 11 includes a unique paddle wheel section 17 and 18 having flutes which extend generally parallel to the auger axes, and operate to greatly agitate the mix in the region of zone 16. Since these paddle wheel sections are axially staggered downstream of zone 16, the mix tends to move back and forth as it follows path 12, and as indicated by arrows 19 and 20.

Figs. 1 and 3 show a chute 21 which defines zone 16, generally on top of auger 10, upstream of paddle wheel section 17. Auger 11 and its paddle wheel 18 are also shown in Fig. 3. Toner is supplied to chute 21 by tubing 22, which tubing carries an internal means of feeding toner from the cleaning station to the developer.
