Abstract

A securing and sealing arrangement for nozzle plates is shown. Specifically, a precisely made cradle 10 supports the nozzle plate 11 to protrude therefrom only 0.001 inch. Gaskets 12 and 13 are placed to surround the rear of the cradle 10, and the front of the cradle and protruding nozzle plate 11. The unit is then secured to the head 14 and sealed by an overlying clamping plate 15 which is secured by screws.
