Abstract

A dual-diode off-chip receive circuit formed from a common collector multiple emitter transistor is depicted in the drawing. The base-emitter diode of T1 is connected in series with the base-collector diodes of T2, T3 and T4, to produce a multiple input T/2/L off-chip receive circuit with desired threshold voltages. Emitter-follower transistors may be employed to provide high-impedance inputs.

Statistical independence between the electrical characteristics of the base- emitter diode of T1 and the base-collector diodes of T2, T3 and T4 reduces the statistical threshold variation of the circuit.
