Cartridge Bill Dispenser

This is a dispenser for prepackaged cartridges of currency, tickets, booklets, or the like. Currency is placed in plastic envelopes (cartridges) 20, and stacked in two compartments 22, 24.

Shuttle 26 on the bottom of compartment 22 moves the bottommost cartridge 20a forward for dispensing. After removal of bill 28 a sensor reverses the motor, not shown, and the empty cartridge 20a is moved to compartment 24 for stacking, in the following manner:

Cam 30 on shuttle 26 lifts the cartridge 20b in compartment 24 to allow empty cartridge 20a to enter. Picker edge 32 on the track of compartment 24 lifts cartridge 20a from shuttle 26, and stacking roller 34 feeds cartridge 20a under cartridge 20b of the stack in compartment 24. At the same time, top roller 36 in compartment 24 feeds a full cartridge 20c to compartment 22. This cycle continues until all cartridges 20 are empty.
