Abstract

Magnetic ink can be used as an overlay for the movement of bubble domains in an underlying bubble domain material. The magnetic ink is transparent, so that the bubble domains can be seen under the ink particles. This allows the manufacture of a transparent display using magnetic bubble domains.

Magnetic Ink Overlays for Magnetic Bubble Domain Materials

Magnetic ink can be used as an overlay for the movement of bubble domains in an underlying bubble domain material. The magnetic ink is transparent, so that the bubble domains can be seen under the ink particles. This allows the manufacture of a transparent display using magnetic bubble domains.

Additionally, conventional photolithographic processes normally used for permalloy overlays can be eliminated through the use of magnetic ink overlays. The magnetic ink can be deposited on the bubble domain material in conventional ways to provide a plurality of domain manipulation functions.
