Detachable Printer Pin Feed

A detachable pin feed is connectable to a printer for handling pin feed forms.

Pin wheels 1 and support rollers 2 are mounted along shaft 3. Shaft 3 is carried by end plates 4 and 5. Connected to one end of shaft 3 is gear 6. A series of gears 7 carried by end plate 4 provides driving connection between gear 6 and gear 8. Gear 8 is connected to platen shaft 9. Gears 6-8 are selected such that the feed rate of the platen, not shown, and pin wheels 1 is the same. End plates 4 and 5 have yokes 10 for accepting platen shaft 9. Ears 11 of yokes 10 are spring biased for detenting yokes 10 on platen shaft 9.

With the above, an operator can change from standard paper feeding to pin feeding without removing the platen.
