The ribbon guide 10 snaps onto a ribbon drive assembly 12 and has a concave surface or edge 14 for centrally guiding a print ribbon 16 in its intended path.

Ribbon 16 is moved around rolls 18 and 20 and over a printer 22 by nipped rolls 24 and 26 between which ribbon 16 passes. Drive assembly 12 is yoke shaped and has a transverse portion 12a connecting leg portions 12b and 12c. Rolls 24 are fixed on a shaft 25 which is journaled in the portions 12b and 12c of drive assembly 12. Rolls 26 are disposed on shaft 27 which is journaled in a fixed holder 28. Shaft 25 and thereby rolls 24 are driven from any suitable power source and move ribbon 16 into a ribbon cartridge 29, from which is it drawn around rolls 18 and 20 and printer 22 by rolls 24. Guide 10 has three fingers 30 and four fingers 32 which embrace the transverse portion 12a of ribbon drive assembly 12. The ends of fingers 32 are hooked so that guide 10 has a snap-on connection with respect to assembly 12. The four fingers 32 fit between rolls 24 and within the yoke shaped drive assembly 12, so that guide 10 is maintained in proper position with respect to drive assembly 12. The concave edge 14 is located in line with the nips between rolls 24 and 26 so that ribbon 16 at all times tends to be centered with respect to rolls 24 and 26, and in its path around rolls 18 and 20 and printer 22.
