Spring Design to Positively Retain Axle for Pressure Roll System

A simple apparatus for retaining a pressure roll is shown.

The apparatus comprises a fixed mounting member 10 of flat spring material. Member 10 has a U-shaped opening in one end forming two leg members 12. Each of the leg members has a slot 14 near its end. An axle member 16 is provided to rotatably mount the pressure roll 18. Axle member 16 has slots in its ends so that after the pressure roll 18 is placed on the axle, the slots in the end of the axle member 16 permit the axle to be snapped into position in slots 14 of mounting member 10 to positively retain the axle 16 for the pressure roll 18.
