Abstract

The system includes a system control 10 having a microcontroller 12 therein, loop multiplexers 14, 16, 18 and 20 including, respectively, microcontrollers 22, 24, 26 and 28 and a teleprocessing attachment 30 including a microcontroller 32. Microcontroller 12 communicates with microcontrollers 22, 24, 26, 28 and 32 and advantageously replaces a central processing unit to result in a relatively economical, simple system that is particularly useful in connection with a plurality of data entry units 34.

The system includes a system control 10 having a microcontroller 12 therein, loop multiplexers 14, 16, 18 and 20 including, respectively, microcontrollers 22, 24, 26 and 28 and a teleprocessing attachment 30 including a microcontroller 32. Microcontroller 12 communicates with microcontrollers 22, 24, 26, 28 and 32 and advantageously replaces a central processing unit to result in a relatively economical, simple system that is particularly useful in connection with a plurality of data entry units 34.

System control 10 includes devices control logic 36 which connects input/output devices 38, such as document card devices, a diskette unit, etc. with microcontroller 12. Control 10 also includes interface logic 40 connected with microcontroller 12 and also connected with an interface 42. Interface 42 connects control 10 with each of the multiplexers 14, 16, 18, 20 and with the teleprocessing attachment 30.

Each of multiplexers 14, 16, 18 and 20 and also teleprocessing attachment 30 includes interface control logic 44, which is connected with the interface 42 and with the respective microcontroller 22, 24, 26, 28 or 32. Each of multiplexers 14, 16, 18 and 20 includes loop control logic 46 connected with the respective microcontroller 22, 24, 26 or 28 and also with a communication loop 48.
