Fig. 1 depicts a core assembly wherein angle theta is fabricated so as to bury (that is to control the separation) of the ferrite relief corner 10 from magnetic media (not shown).

Fig. 2 depicts a single-row sandwich showing core components prior to bonding to form the unified structure shown in Fig. 1. The core components include profile support, profile, relief and relief support. In order to bond the components shown in Fig. 2, single-station glassing fixture (Fig. 3) is used. The single-station glassing fixture holds the relative position of all parts through a conventional bonding operation. This sandwich is then removed from the single- station glassing fixture sectioned and finished to cores, as shown in Fig. 1.

Fig. 4 depicts a dual-row core sandwich comprising profile support, profile relief assembly and relief support. In addition to the angle theta which must be fabricated in the relief assembly, an additional angle alpha must also be fabricated in the relief assembly. The function of angle alpha is to hold the relief against a datum surface at the dual-station glassing fixture shown in Fig. 5. This enables control of dimension "B", which is shown in Fig. 1. In the fixture shown in Fig. 5, the pressure plate is also relieved so that pressure can be applied without preventing the parts from seating properly against one another.
