Anti Tip Device

Figs. 1 - 4c illustrate various forms of a device for preventing tipping of electronic units, such as data processing consoles.

In Fig. 1, console 1 includes a frame mounting portion 2 and front panel 3. The anti-tip device 4 includes frame member 5, primary mounting screw 6, slack take-up screw 7, all cooperating with support member 8 to support caster 9 in a proper relationship with respect to console 1. Heretofore, the arrangement established an original tip point at 10, permitting possible undesired tipping forward of console 1. This is prevented by the inclusion of a channel member 11 extending forwardly to a revised tip point 12, thereby eliminating the need for ballast or recessing of panels for console 1.

Figs. 2a and 2b illustrate individual anti-tip devices 13. Fig. 3 illustrates a continuous anti-tip device 14. Figs. 4a - 4c illustrate a continuous anti-tip device 15 with trim skirt 16 provided to conceal wheels 17.
