Offsetting Collated Paper Sets

Paper or copy sets 1 to 5 in a collator 6 are horizontally offset after being inserted.

A row of pushers 7 extends along collator 6 with one pusher 7 opposite every other collator bin. Pushers 7 may be padded with foam cushions 11. When activated by manual lever 10, or an automatic device, via link 9, pushers 7 pivot around axle 8 and move every other set 2, 4 out of alignment. The row of pushers 7 is retracted by spring 12. Thus, paper sets 1 to 5 are horizontally separated or offset for easy removal.
