Abstract

The shield 10, mounted on a magnet armature 12, is designed so that the magnet core 14-armature 12 contact area is always shielded, as shown. This shielding prevents grease and oil, which tends to accumulate on the armature tips, from getting into the contact area, where it will lengthen drop times and cause mechanical failures.
