Multilayer Ceramic Green Sheet Cleaner

This cleaning apparatus is designed to remove adhered and loose particles from ceramic green sheets to prevent embedding of the debris at subsequent processing operations.

The individual green sheet to be cleaned will be manually loaded into slot 10 where it will be driven through two sets of cleaning brushes 12 and 14. Each of the brushes is provided with a vacuum exhaust and scraper which removes the debris from the brushes. The green sheet is then moved between a set of destaticizers 16, each of which is connected to vacuum hoses 20. A pulsed vacuum source is connected to the vacuum hoses 20. Following the destaticizer, the green sheet is passed through another set of rotating brushes 22, subsequently to a static neutralizer 24, and then past opposed air jets 26. The green sheet is then deposited on a receiving tray 28 where it can be withdrawn through an opening 30.

An element 32 is disposed above the opening 30 forming an air current to prevent debris and the like from entering the chamber.
