Collator Bin Wall

The bin wall 1 is to be used in a horizontal collator, into which sheets are fed from the bottom along arrow 2. The walls may be slightly inclined toward the side shown.

Each wall 1 has lower springs 3 which push the inserted sheet onto lip C, preventing it from falling back through opening 5 and from building up a static charge by contacting wall 1 during insertion. The upper springs 6 prevent the inserted sheet from charging when in contact with wall 1, and separate the sheets of adjacent bins. Ribs 7, extending along the same side as springs 3 and 6, stiffen wall 1 and prevent large area contact between the sheets and wall 1. Stiffening ribs 8 extend along the opposite wall side. Openings 9 reduce surface contact area, thus further diminishing the static charge level.
