Abstract

The magnetic brush developer is positioned to develop a suitable electrostatic image on photoconductor drum 10. The magnetic brush developer comprises a magnetic brush sleeve 14 which is constantly rotating in the direction shown by the arrow in the drawing. The sleeve surrounds a stationary magnetic core 12 and the magnetic field is suitable to attract carrier 18 to it.

Smooth Rubber Coated Magnetic Brush Sleeve

The magnetic brush developer is positioned to develop a suitable electrostatic image on photoconductor drum 10. The magnetic brush developer comprises a magnetic brush sleeve 14 which is constantly rotating in the direction shown by the arrow in the drawing. The sleeve surrounds a stationary magnetic core 12 and the magnetic field is suitable to attract carrier 18 to it.

Sleeve 14 comprises a sleeve of a nonmagnetic material such as aluminum surrounded by a suitable coating 16. Coating 16 is preferably a smooth rubber coating. The rubber coating is preferably sprayed and a relatively soft rubber is used. This configuration transports the developer through the developer zone while reducing wear on the system components.
