Abstract

Continuous flow processing in magnetic ink preparation is enhanced by utilizing a sonic homogenizer which converts kinetic energy to mixing energy, thus achieving high shear, cavitation and turbulence, which provide improved results. The system includes, in series, a coarse (10-12 microns) filter, a SONOLATOR*, a holding tank, two 5 micron filters in series, and a final filter of 3 microns. * Trademark of Sonic Corporation.
