End of Page Indicator

An end-of-page indicator is provided for a typewriter which may be readily folded back to a position that does not interfere with the paper path.

End-of-page indicator 11 (Fig. 1) is mounted on typewriter 13 to provide the operator a means of determining the amount of space left from the line being typed to the end of the sheet of paper. An extensible scale member 15 telescopes into member 17 to allow a less obtrusive position for storage,

The end-of-page indicator 11 is pivotally mounted to the machine frame 19 (Fig. 2) and has a bar 21 which cooperates with frame-mounted detent member 23 to retain the end-of-page indicator in various positions. This allows the end-of- page indicator to be folded back onto a position that will not interfere with the paper path when employing, for example, a pinfeed platen and continuous forms thereon.

With reference to Fig. 1, operators often raise hood 27 for access to carbon copies when making a needed correction. The end-of-page indicator is mounted so that it can fold back along with the hood to provide complete operator access,
