Abstract

The drawing shows a push-on nut which is adaptable for attachment to the threaded portion of a stud screw. The nut includes a hexagonal body for final tightening and a washer base for pushing against when installing the nut. The nut has a threaded internal portion and deflectable sides. For initial installation, the nut is pushed on due to the deflection of the sides. During this initial period, the threaded area of the nut ratchets on the threaded stud/screw. The threaded area of the nut then engages the threads of the stud/screw for final turn to tighten.
