Abstract

The above drawing shows a linear actuator wherein the armature 10 is held stationary while the permanent magnet structure and the brushes are free to move in a straight line along the length of the armature. The armature is a flat, long electrical card which is fabricated from conventional printed-circuit technology. Positioned about the armature card is magnetic circuit 15 to which magnetic brushes (not shown) are attached to ride against armature 10. The magnetic brush assembly is attached to slide bearing 20 so that the assembly is slidably mounted in space relationship with the armature card.
