Drive System for OCR Reader

Shown above is a low cost, highly reliable system for driving documents under an OCR (optical character reader) read station. The read station includes an optical read slit 20 and a drive drum 30. Documents move between the drum 30 and the read station 20.

Belts 40, which are mounted on pulleys 41, 42 and 43, hold the documents against drum 30 so that they move across the read station at a constant speed.
