Shift Mechanism

This mechanical keylever system that will actuate an upper case coded interloper when the shift keylever is depressed and then actuate the lower case interposer when the shift keylever is released.

Prior mechanisms depended upon the motion of the upper case interposer lifting a spring-loaded "dummy" keylever by means of an intermediate bellcrank. The spring-loaded keylever was then latched in its cocked position to be tripped by the upward motion upon release of the shift keylever.

Depressing the shift keylever 10 actuates the upper case shift interposer 12. At the same time the shift bellcrank 14 is pivoted, resetting the lower case dauber 16 over its interposer 18. When the keylever 10 is released, the lower case interposer 18 is actuated.
