Schottky Current Switch

F1 depicts a Schottky current switch circuit. The circuit is ideal for on-chip usage where density, low power and high performance are key factors.

The circuit may be laid out in approximately a 10 square mil area. The operation is that of a conventional current switch.

The logic diagrams shown in Fig. 2 illustrate the logic flexibility of the circuit. The OR and NOR function can be performed by one block. The AND function can be performed by collector dotting two blocks. The XOR function can be performed by dotting both in-phase outputs and both out-of-phase outputs. On the out-of-phase output, two collector dots can be allowed, while on the in-phase side, up to five dots may be used.
