Abstract

Housing 10, drawing A, is provided with bearing raceway 11 and includes supporting webs 12, only one is shown in drawing B, B, for axle 13 which carries caster wheel 14. Raceway 11 is below the centerline of axle 13 and this enables castered base 16 to be close to a supporting surface such as the floor. This also tends to eliminate a cantilever effect and increases durability. Base 16 provides the other raceway for ball bearing 15. Base 16 can be a pedestal leg for a machine or any other type of base which is required to be castered. Housing 10 also functions as a dust cover.
