Abstract

Film chips 11, drawing A, are fixed in circular tracks to rotating drum 10. Mirror 13 is movable across the tracks of drum 10 to receive an image of data from any chip 11. Drum 10 is rotated to bring any chip 11 of the selected track into position for optical registration by mirror 13. Fixed mirror 14 receives the image from mirror 13 and transfers such image to lens 15. In drawing B, drum drive 16, with timing source 19 controlled by drum synchronizing source 17, controls strobe light 12 for projecting light through a longitudinal row of chips 11. The image of one film chip 11 is reflected by mirrors 13 and 14 to lens 15 and subsequently to electronic readout 16.
