Abstract

High efficiency grounding is obtained by this flexible shield terminating structure which provides 360 degree shield termination. A short section of terminator, braided copper shield 1, inserted in washer 2, is held in place by metal grommet 3 that is rolled over shield 1 and washer 2. This assembly is placed over the cable to be terminated and held in place by metal strap 4. This secures shield 1 and cable shield 5 together for soldering. Washer 2 provides 360 degree contact of the shield to the connector when threaded fastener 6 is secured to the connector assembly.
