Abstract

This programmable display system employs a cathode ray tube having a screen comprising multiple phosphors which emit different colors respectively. Such a system is more flexible and simplifies programming by limiting light pen detection to a given color. There is provided either an optical filter which cuts out all light except that of the desired color or a plurality of light pens. Where a plurality of light pens is employed, each pen respectively contains a photocell which is sensitive to the particular light emitted from only one of the phosphors. With such arrangement, programming can be simplified for handling light pen interrupts. The operator is given an additional control over the part of the display from which light pen signals are to be received. This is because there is a choice of color sensitive pens to use.
