Abstract

The ribbon spool mounting includes sheet metal disk 3 which carries projecting tab 4 as an integral portion and is mounted about central stud 5. Disk 6 of magnetic plastic material is adhered to disk 3 and has aperture 8 through which tab 4 projects. A spool 7 having a flange 9 of magnetically attractable material is received about stud 5 and is axially retained by the magnetic attraction of disk 6. Tab 4 projects through a cooperating opening in spool 7 to assure such spool and its mounting rotate in unison to positively impart to spool 7 the driving force supplied through the mounting assembly. The structure expedites spool replacement and eliminates the need for movable securing members.
