Abstract

The optical readout system comprises a source 1 for directing a beam 2 onto mirrors 3 and 4 and lens 5, 6, and 7 for reading data recorded on interchangeable, transparent film 8. Modulation of the light is sensed by a detector 9 for reading the data. Film 8 is inserted into a transparent drum 10 which is rotated. Beam 2 is addressed to different data tracks by angularly displacing the mirror 4.
