Abstract

By flame plating chromium sesquioxide, Cr(2)O(3) on virtually any heat-stable object, an excellent wear resistant protective coating is obtained. Such a protective coating is useful, for example, in making magnetic transducers wear-resistant against the abrading action of surfaces of magnetic media such as tape and disks.
