Abstract

A typewriter tabulation rack is constructed without separate detent devices for individual tab stops through reliance on a friction fit of tab stops 10 on supporting rod 11. Tab stops 10 have a circular split-ring cross-section dimensioned to provide an interference fit with rod 11. Slotted casing 12 is assembled with a full complement of tab stops 10 and a pair of press fit end plugs 13. Rod 11 is then fitted through them. Set screws 14 secure and locate the rod 11 relative to the assembly 10, 12, and 13. In operation, a tab stop 10 can be positioned to set or unset positions by frictional rotation about rod 11.
