Abstract

Light source 1 illuminates rectangularly or quadratically-shaped aperture stop 2 which is imagined by lens 4 on a second aperture stop 5. Image 8 of aperture stop 2 can be controllably shifted by light deflector 3 relatively to aperture stop 5. The size and shape of aperture 9 and its image 10 resulting from superposing image 8 and aperture stop 5 are a function of the amount and direction of relative movement between image 8 and aperture stop 5.
