Abstract

This flexible disk pack has housing 1 on which a plurality of flexible magnetic disks 2 is mounted. Housing 1 is rotated so as to rotate disks 2. The latter are of decreasing diameter from the bottom to the top of the stack. Provisions are made to have an extended position shown in solid lines and a retracted position in which the disks are moved inside housing 1. The magnetic tracks are located on the undersides of disks 2. When it is desired to read out or record a particular track, probe 3 is moved inwardly a predetermined distance and then moved down to bend one or a plurality of disks 2 downwardly. Accessing arm 4, having a magnetic recording head 5 at one end, is then moved inwardly so as to record or play back a desired track on the underside of a predetermined disk 2.
