Abstract

A metal clad plastic laminate 10 is etched to provide a continuous conductor 11. The latter is electroplated using any material capable of being electroplated by applying a potential to cathode 12 while applying the material to be electroplated to conductor 11. A continuous variation in thickness of electroplate on conductor 11 results from the variation in voltage across conductor 11. The sample is calibrated in terms of thickness and conductor length 11 utilizing standard techniques.
